The SPIKES Protocol is a Simple, Easily Learned Strategy for having Difficult Conversations.
Developed by oncologists in 2000, SPIKES is now taught to medical students to help them break bad news. Actor and Pasda member Pam Strachan, teaches SPIKES at the ERI and has used the technique to improve her relationship with her son, who has ASD and ADHD. Pam is passionate about sharing SPIKES. With the help of fellow actor Tim Barrow and Pasda members, Lesley Taylor and John Gannon, you will see examples of SPIKES in action. Together they will explore how to make it work for you.
